Elisa was born in Lisbon, Portugal where she spent most of her childhood and teenager years. She was an avid track and field athlete since she was seven years old and had the opportunity to travel through the cities of Portugal and Europe (Austria, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Spain, Morocco) in track meets, until she was 21 years old. Elisa was part of the Portugal’s National team for 4x400 in 2000. And she still holds CCRI’s records for 110mH and 400mH since 2006.
While at the University of Rhode Island, Elisa was part of an organized exercise group for Parkinson’s, where the focus was to help patients gain and maintain their mobility, balance, strength, and endurance. Her clinical research focused on understanding keys factors affecting patient adherence and attendance to Physical Therapy.
Throughout her clinical experiences Elisa had the opportunity to explore different settings from Cardiopulmonary at Miriam Hospital, to In-patient rehab at the NEBH, and finally Outpatient at Elite PT. These clinical experiences were key to determine her potential for growth and development.
Her clinical interests are the shoulder, knee dysfunctions, sports injuries rehabilitation & training, and general ergonomics; emphasizing manual therapy, strengthening and functional training with all patients.
Elisa sees patients daily from Monday through Friday in our North Attleboro office.
Elisa loves all sports, specially soccer, track & field, football and volleyball. Professional organization involvement includes APTA membership since 2007.
